Casey graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2008, where she earned a B.A. in Biology: Ecology & Systematics. As a field biologist with BioDiversity Research Institute, she has worked on contamination studies primarily with the mammal program but has field experience with songbirds, insects, wood turtles, and waterfowl. Previous experience includes a summer spent working as an interpretive ranger at Mt. Monadnock and Greenfield State Park in New Hampshire. She is looking to pursue a Master’s degree in the near future.
Casey’s research interests include contaminant exposure and its effect in the food web, endangered species recovery, the influence of climate variability on polar bear and ringed seal interaction, and whale migration. Casey is also interested in animal behavior, specifically pertaining to mate choice, family dynamics, and avian siblicide.
